Just when you think that one dude who makes cartoons could never get any luckier, guess what…he does! I could be talking about, of course, none other than Seth Macfarlane. A guy who saw his premier show and baby, Family Guy, get pulled from Fox a few years ago, when less than five years following – by popular demand – he was awarded the largest contract in TV show history. Now Fox is announcing that he will have three shows on their primetime lineup coming this fall during Sundays with his brand new show: The Cleveland Show.
The Premise
This show, based upon the trailer – which you can see at the bottom of this post – follows the classic diatribe of the other two Macfarlane comedies on Fox. Consisting of a family man (or head of the household), a daughter, a son and a wife, and one or two wacky, out of place characters. Think about it. Family Guy follows this, Brian the talking dog and Stewie the diabolical infant. American Dad does as well. The fish and the alien are best friends and totally out of place with the family. Finally, on The Cleveland Show, a talking bear will take the wacky place. But for some reason, this works perfectly for Seth, so more power to you man!
Why They Choose Cleveland
At first I was really left scratching my head wondering why in the heck they choose Cleveland of all people to front Seth’s next new show. Then I remembered that he fits perfectly into the mantra of the premise for all shows that Macfarlane does for Fox. Let’s keep in mind that this dude now has three signature shows on Fox’s Sunday Animation Domination lineup, which is impressive to say the very least. Back on track here, Cleveland is a family man. Peter (Family Guy) is also a family man, and last but certainly not least, Stan (American Dad) is yet another (you guessed it) family man. So thinking back, Cleveland is perfect.

The minority character from the popular show Family Guy returns to Fox with his very own show. This trailer (below) offers a candid clip and a look into what viewers can expect when the fall sweeps week returns in early September of 2009. How Seth can manage three hit comedies at once remains to be seen, however.
