Well well well: It seems everyone's favorite evil horrible villainess, Victoria Grayson, is getting a boyfriend...or at least, a boy toy. So much for sitting around in the dark in that massive Hamptons beach mansion. Victoria's about to get seriously busy!
The newest cast member on ABC's addictive soap/drama Revenge is none other than gorgeous British actor James Purefoy. If the name doesn't ring a bell, you might remember him for playing Mark Antony on the HBO original series Rome. He was fantastic on Rome and I have no doubt he'll be amazing on Revenge.I've been wondering when and how Victoria would get back into the romance game, now that her divorce is in full swing (and a nasty swing, at that). I also wondered when, if ever, we'd get to learn more about Victoria before her Rich Matriarch Grayson days. We know she comes from humble beginnings. We know she tricked Conrad Grayson into marrying her (with a pregnancy). And now we know that marriage was disastrous.
Madeleine Stowe says Victoria will have a "big, passionate love affair" with Purefoy's character on Revenge. She also says that fans will indeed find out more about Victoria's background, specifically "why she connects peculiarly in such a strange way to people." Connects? More like she latches on and sucks out their life forces, but hey, it's just semantics.
*Spoiler Warning (if you haven't seen this week's Revenge yet)*
More casting news for Revenge fans: Victoria's also getting a new attorney (good idea for her, considering the other one was clearly on Emily/Amanda's side). Her new lawyer will be played by veteran actor Courtney B. Vance (Law & Order). Reports say he'll turn up as attorney Ben Barnett in episodes beginning in March. He'll be a super-aggressive lawyer, too. Victoria needs a warrior for this divorce from Conrad, and Barnett fits the bill.
Stay tuned!
