Ellen Out; J-Lo In, Maybe.

Ellen DeGeneres bowed out as an 'American Idol' judge. She says she is too nice for the job, likes to encourage young talent, must not say things that maybe be hurtful or discouraging. So the lady judged herself as not being tough enough.

Rumor has it that Jennifer Lopez is in discussions with Fox TV to be Ellen's replacement. I wonder will J-Lo, if she takes the gig, be tough enough.

IMHO, what "Idol" or any talent show needs as a judge is someone who can judge talent and who has the resume. "Idol" is a singer/music talent show. J-Lo is a singer-dancer-actor, replacing comedian-talk show host Ellen, maybe. J-Lo will be a good choice as the "face" talent on the show, the famous performer. Fox still needs the person who has produced talent and is up on the business, somebody to replace Simon Cowell.
