I find myself wondering this all the time! I do have a weird affinity for crime shows and action movies, but "SVU" is by far my favorite of the "Law and Order" empire. Part of it is that I love seeing them get the bad guys and seeing Olivia and Eliot get so involved in their cases (I love them, they make this show). But I also wonder if it's the glamorization of sex/violence that gets me to watch. And that's a disturbing thought.

I think I like to watch it because if you have noticed they base it off of some real stories. I love the show, but it's hard to watch sometimes because of my son. I don't want him watching this stuff. I think some part of me should have been a detective.

That's a great point--the based on true stories part. I don't watch it in front of my daughter, either, which means I don't get to watch it often! I DVR my episodes and then catch maybe one or two a week--which means they pile up from the USA marathons. :)
